Zion Mountain School is located in the heart of Springdale, UT (Behind the Pizza Noodle). Our backdoor has a view of the largest sandstone face on the planet…The West Temple, aka “Steamboat Mtn.” All ZMS employees look forward to sharing their passion of Zion with others. Whether you are looking for climbing, canyoneering, or hiking beta, we are happy to share our knowledge and experiences.

ZMS carries rental and retail equipment needed to both scale the cliffs of Zion and descend its canyons. ZMS is an official Black Diamond, Imlay Canyon Gear, and Blue Water Ropes dealer.

Hiking the Zion Narrows has evolved over the years. Some people still prefer to hike it barefoot, but many visitors have come to really enjoy renting the appropriate equipment. During the summer months, we mostly rent neoprene socks (helps keep your feet warm), hiking shoes with sticky rubber (helps you stick to the slick river rocks), and a hiking stick (very helpful for maintaining balance). During the colder months, we also rent 3:4 and 4:5 wetsuits.
