Mike is a well organized, knowledgeable and skillful guide. He provided all the information and instruction necessary for me to feel comfortable in the "vertical world". He really went the extra miles to make sure I was comfortable (great belay locations!) and educated (reviewing technique, "rope tricks", etc.). I cannot say enough about how amazing this experience was, and I would recommend ZMS hands down to anyone who wanted to learn more about aid climbing. As a first time big wall climber, Mike made sure I had everything I needed to succeed. Please, if you were ever interested in walling, take the leap and hire ZMS. My experience was so perfect I plan to take another trip with ZMS; I've installed bolts in my house so I can fix a rope and practice jugging, hauling and the other things Mike taught me! We spent a day rock climbing with Zion Mountain School. Their guides are very knowledgable, safe, local and really passionate about their work. They took the time to explain the equipment, and how safe everything was set-up. It helped me relax and enjoy the day once I knew how everything worked. Not only did they take us climbing for the day, they had tons of information and suggestions about the rest of our trip throughout the area. Looking to come back and try some of the other things they do: canyoneering, mountain biking, ice climbing.
We have been on a couple of canyoneering trips with guides at Zion National Park. We really enjoyed our experience with ZMS. Our guide, Mike, was safe, fun, and very professional. It is a wonderful experience if you want to really see the hidden side of Zion. It is doable even for those who are older and not athletic, with the guides help and equipment.
I have done Snake Alley and my daughter did Pine Creek, we are heading back this summer for more.
We called several guide services in the Zion area for our first canyoneering experiance and found the gentlemen at Zion Mountain School to be the friendliest and most down to earth. Our canyoneering experiance was top notch as our two guides took ther time to set us at ease, explaining in detail about the equipment and techniques in assuring a safe and exilerating adventure. I highly recommend Zion Mountain School if you want to experiance the thrill of canyoneering.
Our family, including 11 and 8 year olds, hadn't canyoneered before. We wanted the experience, but wanted it to be safe and comfortable for all. Caleb, our guide and the co-owner, was patient, a great teacher, wonderful with the kids. ZMS aims to give folks individual attention, and to give them access to places in the park you wouldn't otherwise visit. Bullseye on both. The experience inspired us to write our first-ever review on TripAdvisor (although we've used it for years). We highly recommend canyoneering, and doing it with ZMS.

I just wanted to thank you for our recent full day canyoneering trip. Needless to say, our family is not the most outdoorsy or adventurous but we do enjoy new experiences. Our guide Michael was wonderful, and he was perfect for our little ones. They can definitely be a handful, and his patience and encouragement were pivotal for enjoying the day. It was one of the best vacations we have ever experienced. Already our friends are envious of the wonderful pictures we were able to take of our family in the slot canyons. We are telling all of our friends and look forward to going climbing with you in the future.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the great day out at Gooseberry. I had no idea there was such good slick-rock mountain biking close to vegas. I enjoyed it better than Moab, especially minus the 10 hour drive. It was great to learn about the area and I am stoked to come back and get into some climbing.
