At Zion Mountain School, we provide instructional based guiding that focuses on safe, fun, educational, and empowering outdoor experiences. It is our goal to maintain high professional and environmentally sustainable standards throughout all of our business operations and practices.
All people involved with ZMS have an unrelenting passion for the outdoors, the southwest, and especially, Zion NP, UT. The outdoors have greatly affected all of our lives, and we relish in the opportunity to lead you through the various terrains of the great southwest. Many things are relative, and whether you are looking to get guided up a sandstone Big Wall or through a slot canyon, both of these experiences add to the enjoyment and enrichment of life.
Zion Mountain School was established in order to provide people with the highest guiding standards in safety, professionalism, and instruction. We achieve this goal by hiring the most experienced local guides who have received both certification and training from the American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA). The AMGA is our nation’s sole representative to the 21 member International Federation of Mountain Guides Association (IFMGA), the international governing body responsible for guiding standards and education around the world.

ZMS strives to maintain sustainable business practices while minimizing their environmental impact. We maintain paperless practices and incorporate Leave No Trace principles into our business operations. ZMS is proud to be a 1% for the Planet member, donating 1% of its sales to various environmental causes.
Zion Mountain School currently operates under Commercial Use Permits with the following agencies: Zion National Park, Dixie National Forest, Washington County B.L.M., Kane County B.L.M., and Snow Canyon State Park.
